This is a highly anticipation movie of the summer, maybe a summer blockbuster movies already started, maybe Channing Tatum will take off his shirt like when he did on Magic Mike. I had two women sitting besides me when I was watching the movie, they did not care about the plot, and all they wanted to see is Channing Tatum. One of them women looked at me and ask if this was Magic Mike the sequel.
“No, it’s White House Down” I said.
“Ohh, I don’t have a TV” said the attractive women.
That explains it.
Anyway, Channing Tatum plays Cale, an earnest, overachievement D.C. cop who saves President Sawyer – Jamie Fox, wielding heavy weapons with more energy than conviction – and foils the terrorist. This movie reminds of Bruce Willis ‘Die hard in a White House’ and Channing Tatum is much younger, stronger, muscles, and smarter, and he saves the day. The supporting cast Richard Jenkins as the top congressional official and James Wood as a turncoat Secret Service agent. Channing Tatum daughter in the movie is played by the young and talented Joey King. You may recognize her from TV and Movies such as from TV: Suite of Life of Zack and Cody, and Bent. Movies: Ramona and Beezus with Selena Gomez, Oz the Great and Powerful, and Dark Knight Rises (she shave her hair off). This summer she will be featuring in ‘The Conjuring’ coming out this summer. It’s a true and scary movie. I will do a review and background of the movie with no spoilers.
Roland Emmerich, was the executive producer of “Independence Day” and directed “White House Down.” He used primarily the same scene from “Independence Day” instead of Aliens attacking, terrorists. He also produced such hits such “The Day After Tomorrow”, “2012” and “Godzilla”
