She’s coming to take your children.

She should have taken the audience too, they were giggling throughout the movie.

The Curse of La Llorona is a Mexican folklore. The story is a beautiful maiden woman by the name of Maria. She married a nobleman, and they had two boys. Her husband was a traveler and a business person. Someone had to make money and provide for the family. But when he comes home, he would give his attention to the boys and denied Maria. She did not know why he would do this to her. Eventually, it drove her crazy.

So she spied on her husband when he was in town and found out that he was going out with a younger woman. It was not his sister or cousin, but with another woman.

Maria takes her two sons to the Santa Fe River and drowns them. And then later she immerses herself too.

In heaven, she is denied entry, until she finds the soul of her two sons. And she is cursed to wander the earth looking to reclaim their souls.

Dressed in a white gown and wailing for her children. She takes lost and abandoned children as her own and drowns them in hopes of recovering their souls that will permit her entry into the afterlife.

In other words, she wanted to join her sons, that she killed.

This story used to scare kids not to go at night or disregard their parents if they do. They will not come back.

La Llorona has infiltrated nightmares from Mexico to the Southwest region of the United States.

This movie was actually good and scary. The quietness and tension will make anyone be scared of the dark when it is quite. The only part was the audience laughing and giggling in the movie, it makes no sense. It’s supernatural horror. The audience should have nightmares.

The movie was creepy and frightening, great jump scares, it made me threw my popcorn and my drink on my date, that scared her the most. Plus she got wet. Then she dumped her soda drink on me. At least we were hydrated and did not faint. Stay hydrated!

Michael Chaves is a fantastic director; his direction of jump scares was different than other movies. It’s a great horror movie for date night or going by yourself, that’s what happened to me on occasion I would ask a girl if she would like to see a horror movie. She would say yes. Then when the climax of the film comes along. She would spoil the movie and walk away to the lobby, while she waits for me to come out. Never use tinder to find a date and if they have seen it the night before.

The acting in the movie was fantastic. Overall it was a great movie. I gave it three out of four stars.

Go see it this weekend, especially on Easter.

My date zero.
