Bates Motel – The Final Season

Mommy 2a

Wow. I did not know they had a lot of fans of the Bates Motel series. I was in a Neil Simon’s play called Plaza Suite, the only peephole we had was to see the actors move around the stage and watch for our cues.

Anyway, you all know what happened. If you haven’t watch it, catch it online and watch all the ten episodes or binge the series. I have been watching the series since 2013 when it premiered on A&E.

The last of the episode was “The Cord.” At the end of the fourth season, we see Norma and Norman on the floor; he wanted to die with his mother. Romero tries to revive his wife Norma, but she dies, and Norman lives.

Then Norman went shopping to get few items from the hardware store, and he found a saleslady that look like his mother, he thought he had seen a ghost of his mother. Apparently, it was a young woman reaching for an item on the top shelf.

Norman did not know she was married when Norman met her husband with another woman at the hotel. He was suspicious, so he gave the guy the key to room 1 right next to the office. He peeped and watch, probably studying of how to get the moves on with a woman. Great security cameras he had there.

I should take notes. Make a peep hole but, I have brick walls.

This season was intense; Norman became Norma when Norman was questioning by the police, the police had no idea who he was and who they were interviewing. Norman was possessed or having a hallucinating when he became Norma.

Even Dylan, his half-brother, saw the transformation when Norman was fighting with his mom Norma.  He was fighting with himself! Dylan knew he was crazy and he needed help.

This is a real disorder; it is called dissociative identity disorder, DID previously known as multiple personality disorder (MPD), is a mental disorder characterized by at least two distinct and relatively enduring identities or dissociated personality states. Better known as a Split personality!

Since Alex Romero wanted to kill Norman because Norman killed his wife and his mom, Norma. Norman didn’t die yet! Alex saw the dead body of his wife (Norma) in the snow, and Norman killed him.

When Dylan, heard the killings again. The Police were looking for Norman; he was missing.

This episode was crazy and insane.

Dylan, decide he wanted to stop this mayhem of killing. Norman decided to invite Dylan for dinner and who was the dinner guest? Mom from the grave, he dressed her up and prop her on the chair by the table.

That’s was sick and crazy.

Dylan knew Norman wasn’t right, but the food he cooked looks great too bad it went cold because they did not eat. Dylan confronted Norman in the kitchen. Norman grabbed the knife and attacked Dylan. Dylan shot his brother to death!

Norman last words were, “Thank you” he wanted to be with his mother the whole time.

So, Norman wanted to be with his mother; he should have killed himself a long time ago.  Either that rot in jail for life. Killing Norman was a better idea.

What did you think of the Bates Motel and the final season on A&E?  Would they do another Alfred Hitchcock reboot and make it into a mini -series?

Conjuring 2: Enfield Poltergeist

conjuring-2

The movie opens when Ed and Lorraine did an investigation of the Amityville house in Long Island, New York. Lorraine is a clairvoyant she could sense an evil in the house. Will there be a reboot of the horror classic of the Amityville House Horror?  The 1979 and 2005 version is quite enough.

Maddison wolf is an incredible actress, her performance was absolutely fantastic and scary, I would not dare be in the ally with her and when she goes all evil.

The children in this movie did an excellent performance and this was their first acting job in a horror film.  I wonder what agent told their parents that their child would be working in a horror film.

“Your child will be in horror film, they will be torment by evil spirits and it pays $5,000 a day,” said the agent.

“Great. I need them to get a job and I need the money to get them nice things,” a parent would say.

The directional by James Wan was brilliant, his camera angles and continuing shots takes you inside the life the Hodgson family. Some of the scenes did make me jump, but the girl who was sitting next to me told me to get off her lap. It may not scare you, there were some scenes may be too intense for younger children. Remember these events happened to them. And evil spirits can follow you, that’s what happened to Loraine from the Amityville house. She would not go back to that house anymore.

There was one particular scene when they were interview the devil, originally Hogdson family did not want to tell that story they will sue the writers. But the writers was clever enough to do it and use a blur effect which was intense and clever. Janet was completely blurred out and her voice was deepen with a voice actor. And one could see the devil face immerging out of the blurring scene.  The dialoguing came straight out of the actually recording of the conservation in 1977 on tape.

Many non-experts though it was prank, that the children would do anything to get attention, but where’s the proof of this incident. Children did not have the knowledge to do this, remember this was in 1977. Computers and the internet was not invented by this time for the public. How is it possible a child could lift a table and throw it across the room? They do not have the strength to do this and bending a ladle.

This movie made you believe that if you make a homemade sprit board, evil spirits can come in. Don’t do it, just close it. Or suffer the consequences of evil in your house. If someone spots you levitating or walking on the walls. Get out of the house.

Ed and Lorraine have a museum of haunted items in their home.

Overall this is a great horror film, do not bring children, if you do they will get nightmares. I give it 8 out of 10.

Go to church!

Conjuring 2 – The movie

conjuring 2 MPFrom the case files of Lorraine and Ed Warren, they investigate the Hodgson Family in England where poltergeist and evil haunts their house. Ed and Lorraine came right after they investigate the Amityville House in 1977. The events in Enfield case happened in 1977. This movie is based on true terror that inspired Enfield poltergeist and evil.

Are you scared? Bring a pillow and a Bible.  And go to church on Sundays.

The Conjuring

Conjuring

When I saw this movie on the screen, The Conjuring is scaring up the box office and the gross sales are pretty good for a R-rated movie. The Conjuring is in the top 5, not bad for a horror movie during the summer months.

In 1971, a couple, Carolyn and Roger Perron, move into a dilapidated, old farmhouse in Harrisville, Rhode Island with their five daughters. The move goes smoothly except for the dog, who refuses to come into the house, that will tell that something is not right with the dog. It probably ate something bad.  The children play a game called Hide & Clap; while playing, one of the daughters finds the boarded up entrance to a cellar. Roger enters the basement with a match to look around. Afterward, the family go to bed. What goes bump into the night will get you scare when your house started to creek in the middle of the night. Well it’s creepy.

James Wan, the director of the movie, from the Saw and Insidious, has made his best film to date with this solid horror film that hearkens back to the ones best remembered from his childhood. He remembers watching horrors such as The Amityville Horror, The Exorcist, The Haunting, and Poltergeist. These films are the scariest movies ever made and they were big box office hits on the movie screens.

Production notes

The story happened in Rhode Island, but it was filmed around in Willington, NC. Filming also took place at the University of North Carolina Wilmington in March 2012 while the campus was on its spring break.  Most of filming concluded in Screen Gems studios in Wilmington, NC.

Cast and crew experienced strange events during filming, such as scratches appearing on Farmiga’s computer after signing on for the film, people inexplicably waking up between 3 and 4 AM (the “witching hour”), and the real-life Carolyn Perron falling and breaking her hip while her family was visiting the set. Is the set haunted by spirits?
