Sharknado 5: Global Swarming

Sharknado MP

If you haven’t seen it, and you think it’s ridiculous, and probably you will see it Sharknado 5 on the Syfy channel. One thing it is a parody of one of the adventure movies from the 1980’s, well one of them. And they have very witty, clever lines and word play (more like Easter eggs in the movie or reference either to the actors or other movies.) And we were laughing at them. It was meant to do that. Make us laugh at them. We were their laugh track for the movie.

The main stars are Ian Ziering and Tara Reid. The story of the movie is quite simply Fin and April travel around the globe to save their son who’s trapped inside a Sharknado vertex porthole. April got eaten by a shark and turned into an indestructible android with nuclear powers.

This time the movie was much better than last year Sharknado 4: The Fourth Awakens. Crazy title, but the plot was when Fin and his family and the cosmos have been blissfully Sharknado-free in the five years (in the future) since the most recent attack, but now sharks and tornados are being whipped up in unexpected ways and places. You must see it.

The CGI was quite good too with the sharks and the tornado not realistic but appropriate realistic for the movie. Will it get nominated for an Emmy? I guess.

Anyway, the cameos are one of the who’s who in the entertainment business and they were:

Jena Sims as NATO Delegate Lee

Cassandra Scerbo as Nova Clarke

Masiela Lusha as Gemini

Olivia Newton-John

Dan Fogler

Charo as Queen of England

Lucy Pinder as Swedish Ambassador

Cody Linley as Matt Shepard

Gilbert Gottfried

Chris Kattan as British Prime Minister

Katie Price as Prime Minister’s PA

Caprice Bourret as Polaris

David Naughton as David Naughton

Margaret Cho

Chloe Lattanzi as Electra

Fabio as The Pope

Kathie Lee Gifford as Herself

Hoda Kotb as Herself

Al Roker as Himself

Bret Michaels

Tony Hawk

Greg Louganis

Russell Hodgkinson as Steven Beck

Ross Mullan as Dr. Wobbegon

Abby Lee Miller

Clay Aiken

And they were hysterical to watch, either they were eaten by sharks or if the sharks spit them out! It was funny.

Rent it if you get a chance. Or Netflix and chill for a date night in front of your TV, and watch it with the kids. They might like it too.  The encore for Sharknado 5 is on Saturday, August 12,  2017.

Exorcist The TV show

exorcist-tv-header

You probably saw the TV show of the Exorcist and you probably wonder where’s Linda Blair and Ellen Burstyn, this is not the movie from the 1973 directed by William Friedkin. It was one of the best horror film that scared the movie audience off the feet and the next day the churches were fill with people to be blessed by the lord to protect themselves from evil.

It started out slow, but it did pick up very fast. The silence and the slowness made the show intense and scary to watch. The cinema photographer of the show reminds us of the first movie of the Exorcist, beautiful shot and scary, the mood and lighting and the ionic music of the Exorcist, makes us tingle with fright!

It’s a different take on the Exorcist but set in the present time and where there is evil in the world today. Not just in the United States, but other parts of the world. Italy, Rio and Kolkata, India are the most common for demonic possession, if you don’t believe it look it up. If you are fan of paranormal witness on the syfy network. You can hear first-hand account of real terror from real witness, including demonic possession. It’s out there.

It is not like the Conjuring 2 Enfield Poltergeist, in which the movie was scary to watch and I did hear some scary creepy sound in my house one afternoon. I heard footsteps in the house when I was alone. My dad was resting in another room, the whole afternoon, it wasn’t him. Who was in my house while my dad was resting? One time watching the movie is enough for me.

Then my TV came on by itself and it was playing “Jessie” on the Disney Channel, my favorite show.  It knew what I like to watch, that’s creepy. So I watched it.

It’s creepy and scary, and nothing will jump at you. But very intense.

The Long Island Terror

Paranormal Pictures 6 7 2013In between 2005 and 2011  a woman and her two daughters, the husband and father of the family, a New York firefighter died tragically  and was claim a hero.  She did not want to deal of the painful but happy memories of her family but to move out and move on.

So the family moved to Long Island to a nice house and with the help of the firefighters who were renovating for the mother and her two daughters.  Once the house was completed, strange things have occurred.

One of the fire fighters decided to clean out the basement. So he took out a broom and swept up the floor and as he was sweeping up floor. He saw some paintings on floor. He swept up the whole place and discovered an old pentagram has been drawn on the floor. Also uncovered are some writings from the late 1920s that indicate the place was once used by devil-worshippers.

Then all hell break loose for the family, with objects being thrown about, loud knocking heard in the walls, and — most ominously — shadowy figures that seem to mean the family harm. Even the teen children were affected and they are scare what would happen to them. One of the youngest was afraid to use the bathroom so one of them has to stay in front of the bathroom door.

Since the mother had security cams around the house, she decided to check on them.  The mother saw her  oldest teen decided to go outside in the cold to get some fresh air of all the paranormal activity that happen in the house.   She sat there, swinging. Her mother watches her from the security camera. Then suddenly satanic worshippers were behind her. The mother rushes down stairs from her bed room to outside. The oldest who was on the swing was pushed from the swing and broken her ankle and almost dragged across the snow.  She scream!

After coming from Hospital, the oldest teen had a strain ankle and needed bed rest.  While her mom was out shopping, strange occurrences were happening  in the daughter room. A black figure came out from the mirror and approaching her. She screamed and fell onto the floor and her the cell phone fell too. She crawled underneath the bed and called her mom in which she was shopping across town. She dropped everything and rushed home.

The oldest daughter could see feet approaching her bed and then it walked away.  She was reveal. Suddenly it pop it’s head at the bottom of the head and she scream.

That was the mother last straw. No one is going to scare her daughters out of the house. She took her daughters to her mother’s house  and return to battle the demons in her house.

She called Liz Milano, a paranormal investigator and Dawn Jolly a local psychic medium to assist to take down the demons out of her house.  Dawn explained to the mother that there had been cults that had conjured demons and evil spirits in the area, and had apparently been working in that basement. The demolition in the basement had created an opening, and those spirits were coming back across.

With a bucket of smoldering sage, a cross, and their own spirits, Dawn, Liz, and the mother began the process of blessing and cleansing the house.  They heard chanting, screaming, and even a fireball of demonic energy appear before them in the same area that had so scared Tony.

The Mystery of the Dybbuk Box

One should never open the Dybbuk box, the box itself was first used to describe the subject of an original story by Kevin Mannis. It  was featured on Syfy’s Paranormal Witness,  which he posted as an Ebay auction listing. Mannis, a writer and creative professional by trade, owned a small antique and furniture refinishing business in Portland, Oregon at the time. According to Mannis’ story, he purportedly bought the Box at an estate sale in 2001.

Not knowing there was evil in the box, eventually when Mannis took the box home and opened it,  strange occurrences happened at the store. He had an assistance which was working one afternoon, while Mannis was away for a business. He got a frantic called from him his assistance at the store. When he got back, the store was quiet and empty. He did not see his assistance there. He then went to the basement. The basement door was locked. How did it get locked? He opened the lock, and inside it was dark. He tried to put on the lights, but the lights weren’t working. So he grabbed the nearest flash light and started to search for his assistance. He noticed the long tube light that was hanged crashed to the floor. Several of them were on the floor. He wondered how did this happened?  Then he called out for his assistance to see if she was alright. She did not respond. But when he turned his flashlight to one side, she  startled him, and she left.

Since the dybukk box was sitting on the table,  and it was open.  He closed it. He then showed the dybukk box to his mom as a gift, which was not a good idea to do, he showed it to her. Then he was called away by an associate, and she opened the box.  She felt something evil came out, and it consumed her and knocked her out to the chair. She felt her eyes were droopy, and her mouth was saggy. She felt she was having a stroke. Her son came back, and he saw her eyes were gazed at the box and no movement from the chair. He called out to her, but no answer from her. So he called 911 and they took her to the emergency room, and she felt better. The box did something to her.

Ever since he had the box, it was causing disturbance at the store and at home. Even nightmares too, so he tried to sell it, he placed it in front of the store. Then  someone immediately bought it, a few hours later, it was bought back, with a note said:  “It is evil.”

He then sold it on Ebay,  he took a nice picture of it, wrote a nice description of the box, and set the price for a reasonable price. Across the interweb, a group of college students saw the listing of  the Dybbuk box  on EBay and the description of the box was haunted, and they were debating whether one of  them should buy it and try it. The following day, one of the room mates saw the empty box with packaging material outside in the living room. When the roommate  turned to the kitchen, it was there. It was staring at him, and the trick was his other room mates entered from the other door, and he mentioned that he bought it online.

One of the roommates started to blog about the box and the things happening to him and his roommates. First, the lights were popping. The power keeps going out. Some of the room mates were having troubling sleeping, having nightmares, looking like zombies  in the morning,   and their eyes were red. This hadn’t happened before, but when the box came, things out of the ordinary happened.

A professor who was reading his blog about the things happening in the apartment was curious as a matter of science. When he saw the listing posted on Ebay, many people were also curious about the box too, they were eager to get the box through an online auction. The bids were coming in and the professor won the auction and the matter of days it came. When the Dybbuk box came to the office, the computers and power were going crazy and outage too.   He examined the box very carefully and took pictures and notices few interesting things on it. He saw a strip of wax on the box like it was used in ritual for worshiping. Then the  professor took it home and put it in his truck. The professor could not sleep. He was having nightmares of an old hag appeared in his dream wanted to kill him, but he woke up from his nightmarish dream. When he looked into the mirror, his eyes were red as zombies.

So he buried the Dybukk box in an old abandoned old house that he owned and it started again. The nightmares came back and the bruises too. The dark mass appeared in his house scaring his son.  So he decided to call the owner of the box, Mannis and he mention to contact the original owner of the box. He did, it had belonged to a Polish Holocaust survivor named Havela, who had escaped to Spain and purchased it there before emigrating to the United States. Havela’s granddaughter told Mannis that the Box had been kept in her grandmother’s sewing room and was never opened because a dybbuk — an evil spirit from Jewish folklore — was said to live inside it. He offered to give the box back to her, but she became upset and refused to take it.

A group of ladies in the 1930s in a Jewish community, created an Ouija board out of  a cloth, putting letters and number and called out the spirit, which was bad thing to do. The spirit came, and the ladies were shock in what they did. Since the ladies could not put out the spirits away they draw it out.  They decided to put the materials in the box with the artifacts. And everything was clammed.

If you had seen the episode on Paranormal Witness on Syfy and listened to the witness who claimed to encounter this episode was the scariest of them all. The movie ‘The Possession’ opens Friday, August 31, 2012, nationwide.

The story has a similar theme, based and inspired by the true story of the incident, the dybukk box.  It will either scare you or not, but I hope it will scare you, because it is  based on a true story.  Go out and see it.

The Ghostly Girl at the Sweet Briar College

Sweet Briar College is a liberal arts women’s college in Sweet Briar, Virginia. It’s north of Lynchburg, Virginia. The school motto translates as: “She who has earned the rose may bear it.”

The school is named after the former Sweet Briar plantation, the former plantation of Elijah Fletcher and his family. Fletcher was a 19th century teacher, businessman, and mayor of Lynchburg. His wife, Maria Crawford, is credited with naming the land Sweet Briar. By the mid-19th century, Fletcher had between 80 and 100 slaves at the plantation. After their emancipation in 1865, several continued to work for pay and live at Sweet Briar. On Elijah Fletcher’s death, his daughter, Indiana, inherited the plantation.

When she passed in 1900, she willed the land and much of her assets to starting a college for women, as her daughter Daisy had passed at 16 and, therefore, never had a chance to attend college.

In the Princeton Review it’s one of the best women college, if someone wanted more information their site was taken down temporarily either by the storm or the series of Syfy “School Spirits” if they are afraid of bad publicity and women should know the history, of the school, but let’s look the bright side of the school and I will explain the dark side.

As I mention before, it’s one of the best women colleges, with the best career service, best class discussion encouraged, and the best most beautiful campus a girl will love to go. The professor get’s high marks in teaching and classroom experiences. Being the best of everything’s SweetBriarCollege for women ranks in the top 20 of academic university even though it’s a women’s college, that’s how women became smart, by going to the best school for women.

Even with the best college out there, it’s bound to have their own stories about their university, and their paranormal activity that we don’t know about it, until students and professor witness these and have a class discussion about this.

They can focus on their studies when things happen, and they can’t explain they need to tell their stories. Students are not alone in witness these paranormal activities.

Dani Humphrey told her story during an interview in New York with the producers of the Syfy “School Sprits” and when she finished that day she flew back home.

She said she thinks producers chose her story because it actually didn’t involve Daisy but Indiana Fletcher Williams’ much more sinister-sounding brother, Lucien.

“It started off as random things happening in my dorm room. Certain things moving, scratching noises from a room that no one lived in,” she said. “Sophomore year, my roommate and I … woke up in the middle of the night to see a man sitting on the edge of our air mattress. It was freaky.”

Humphrey said they had repeated encounters with his ghost over the years, almost as if he was following them from dorm to dorm.

“One night, I fell asleep and I had this dream that I was being shaken,” she said. “And I woke up, went to my swim meet and one of my teammates was like, ‘Dani, what’s on your arm?’ I had a bruise that was wrapped around my entire bicep.”

But Humphrey said it was never enough to scare her out of returning to Sweet Briar.

“For me, personally, I figure that it’s just him trying to kick out as many people as possible,” she said. “You can’t run away from something that you don’t know. It’s just a negative energy, and the more positive energy you put out, it cancels it out. Why not just stick it to him? Like, yo, I’m not leaving.”

Gutierrez hasn’t had any ghostly encounters herself, but was interviewed for the episode to give some historical context.

“This whole area was deeply affected by the Civil War,” she said. “The idea that ghosts linger … is kind of a way of connecting us to the college.”

Now that her story is about to go public, Humphrey said she’s excited but also nervous.

“I don’t know how people are going to take it,” she said.

“When people go on these shows, the number one fear is being perceived as crazy. I’m excited to get the story out there. I think everyone needs to know about it. It is an idyllic campus, but there are secrets that the outside world needs to know.”
