Selena Gomez is feeling just fine; she underwent surgery to receive a kidney from her best friend Raisa, she’s a star from “The Secret Life of the American Teenager.”
According, to Selena Gomez, when she was being interviewed on the Ellen DeGeneres show back in 2015, she said: “It’s an autoimmune disease, which means it is the result of the immune system attacking normal tissue.”
What Is Lupus? The immune system is designed to attack foreign substances in the body. If you have lupus, something goes wrong with your immune system, and it attacks healthy cells and tissues. This can damage many parts of the body such as the: Joints, skin, kidneys, heart, lungs, blood vessels, brain.
Raisa met Selena back in 2007 when they were a part of a group of Disney and ABC Family, and they started to visit the Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles.
“I am beyond grateful that God would trust me with something that not only saved a life but changed mine in the process,” Raisa said. “This was part of our story, and we will share it soon, but what is important now is that this is not the only story.”
“There aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa,” said Gomez. “She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much, sis.”
