The Shape of Water leads with 13 nominations which include Directing, Best Picture, female leading role Sally Hawkins, male supporting role Richard Jenkins, female supporting Octavia Spencer, original score, original screenplay, cinematography, costumes designs, sound editing, sound mixing, film editing and production design. It may win a few, but we have to wait and see. The Shape of Water

Ladybird is an interesting movie, and it’s a dark comedy about a teenager who’s nickname is Lady Bird, and no she’s not a ladybird. Or a bird, but a teenager. Laura Marano from the Disney’s Austin and Ally stars in the Oscar Nominated film.  Saoirse Ronan is an interesting and fascinating actor you may recognize her from Hanna (2011) and The Lovely Bones (2009). Since Ladybird won the Globes for the lead actress, it did not win for best director by Greta Gerwig. However, she is nominated for the Oscar which is better. Watch the review Lady Bird

Three Billboard Outside Ebbing, Missouri. After months have passed without a culprit in her daughter’s murder case, Mildred Hayes makes a bold move, painting three signs leading into her town with a controversial message directed at William Willoughby, the town’s revered chief of police. When his second-in-command, Officer Dixon — an immature mother’s boy with a penchant for violence — gets involved, the battle is only exacerbated. If you go to Ebbing Missouri and find out there’s no Ebbing Missouri then you are lost.  Ebbing Missouri does not exist, but they did film it in Asheville, NC and near the mountains. Road trip. A New Superhero is in town Phoenix Jones!

Being a superhero is no easy task, just asked Phoenix Jones, who is this guy?  He needs a better name like Phoenix Jones. How about just plain Phoenix and with wings, if he can fly.

He’s a superhero in Seattle. In order to be a hero they have to have powers, for him nothing, the costume is bright and colorful. He should have worn protective gear like a bulletproof outfit, underneath his costume, or on top of it and painted with different colors to make it pretty. How about sparkles?

I thought superhero was not supposed to be injured on the job. He got a broken nose from a fight. He did hold a person down. He should have called 911 first and then catch the crook. When he held him down the other person pointed the gun at him and the crooks got away. He should have a utility belt like the one batman would have and all the gadgets he need to fight crime, a taser gun and a cell phone. Did batman have these gadgets when he was fighting crime? Maybe, but not sure.

Watch The Cape on  NBC Monday nights  at 9pm right after Chuck.
