So you going to see Star Wars: The Rouge One over this weekend, you will notice it will not have the iconic Star Wars crawl, it went straight to the movie. This is not the sequel, if you see Darth Vardar in the movie, he was dead in the last movie in Return of the Jedi (1983) and he left a son in the previous films, that we did not know about, which movie was that?

The Star Wars: Rogue One, comes in between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. It’s confusing, but one day it will sink in. It’s the timeline of the story when it happens. They should have called it Star Wars 3.1: The Rogue One.

“Rogue One” is the first of many “Star Wars Anthology” films. Unlike “The Force Awakens” and its sequels, which will directly continue the original saga, the Anthology films aim to expand the larger Star Wars universe and focus on other characters and conflicts. For example, the next Anthology movie (due May 2018) will focus on a young Han Solo. Can’t wait to see that.

So far it is getting great reviews, based on critic’s reviews some will understand and some will not understand. Other critics may suggest the dialogue is not clever nor the story. But everybody loves a big epic battle scenes. And they were epic. What do they know?

If you are a Star Wars fan, like I am, then I understand the story. Other people will be confused.

The story is when Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), a Rebellion soldier and criminal. Who is she? It will have flashback of her childhood and her parents.  It is about to experience her biggest challenge yet when Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly) sets her out on a mission to steal the plans for the Death Star. And who does Jyn it gives it too?  With help from the Rebels, a master swordsman, and non-allied forces, Jyn will be in for something bigger than she thinks.

They will be new characters and old. Who will come back? What was C3PO as a teenager? R2D2 Beeps.

The character of Grand Moff Tarkin as played by Peter Cushing in 1977 is digitally recreated using CGI (with actor Guy Henry as body double). Peter Cushing died in 1994.

The music soundtrack is not being conducted by John Williams it is by Michael Giacchino, but it will still have the theme music.

This movie will either get Oscar nominations for technical effects, visual effects or make-up and costuming.

Overall it is a good movie, but please explain your children the history of Star Wars for they would not get confused about the story line and characters.

By the way, stay after the movie to see something special.

Post comments, please.
