All The Money In The World

All The Money In the World MP.jpg

All the Money in the World follows the kidnapping of 16-year-old John Paul Getty III (Charlie Plummer) and the desperate attempt by his devoted mother Gail (Michelle Williams) to convince his billionaire grandfather (Christopher Plummer) to pay the ransom. When Getty Sr. refuses, Gail attempts to sway him as her son’s captors become increasingly volatile and brutal. With her son’s life in the balance, Gail and Getty’s advisor (Mark Wahlberg) become unlikely allies in the race against time that ultimately reveals the true and lasting value of love over money. By the way, this is a true story.

If you haven’t seen it, Christopher Plummer gave a fantastic performance and much better than Kevin Spacey with makeup on. Christopher Plummer had a little makeup on to make himself older. They were some scenes with Kevin Spacey in it, but Christopher Plummer was magnificent.

In other words, Christopher Plummer was original to play J. Paul Getty, and he met the real person in London. So when he heard that Kevin Spacey was fired from the movie, because of sexual harassment. Christopher Plummer had two weeks to memorize his lines before the reshoot.

Reshooting of the movie cost of money. Since Mark Walberg was paid more than Michelle Williams and Michelle Williams is the lead in the movie. It didn’t make sense why she did not get a bigger cut of the reshooting the same scenes. Maybe she was paid more when they shot the first time and for the reshoot paid less.  Still, the lead actor should get more. Mark Walberg has the supporting role, and Mark is a highest paid actor for 2017.  If this movie makes more money than it’s budget, then they will be paid again.

So please see this movie, again and again, By the way, this movie was fantastic. This movie has two Oscar-winning actors:

Timothy Hutton

Christopher Plummer

Michelle Williams won a Golden Globe for My Week with Marilyn (2011). Oscar-nominated actress.

The 79th Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals

Mark Wahlberg

So go and see this movie, and make all the money in the world for the actors can get paid. And by the way, he was humming a song that you might recognize.

Peter Pan LIVE

Peter Pan Live was extraordinary to watch. A Broadway play on TV, using commercial breaks for set changes or for the actors to get ready to do the next scenes as the stage managers rush the actors to be on time and not to mess up their lines. It was great to watch a famous play live on NBC.  The ratings were down from last year when The Sound of Music Live premiere on NBC year ago.

Allison Williams, actress, comedian, and musician. She stars as Marnie Michaels on the HBO comedy-drama series Girls. I love this show. It’s a guy thing. She’s get naked in some scenes, but I like it. And it’s funny. She did a fantastic job as Peter Pan. My question is? Why is Peter Pan a woman? Should Peter Pan be a man?  The name Peter is a man’s name. Jack Noseworthy (Peter in Jerome Robbins’ Broadway): He was the only to do it on Broadway, but he was an understudy. He was a singer, and a dancer and he looked like a boy when he got the role.

Why the ratings went down? Maybe people did not like the casting part of the Peter Pan? Do the people want Carrie Underwood back and make her to a boy? All actors have to audition for a part, she wasn’t given the part.  They probably did have male actors as Peter Pan when auditioning for the part. So they decided to pick Allison Williams and asked her “How do feel if we cut your hair and trim it to make you look like a boy?”

“What about my breast?” Allison Williams asked.

“Duct tape?” the casting agent said.

“Ok” Allison Williams said.

Did Christopher Walken messed up his lines? He probably saw his image as Captain Hook on the TV monitors. Nothing happen to the set. No mistakes. I guess. Probably the actors did messed up the lines and did not notices, but quickly got the lines right. Only one picked out when analyzing the live broadcast on my DVR of the movie. When Peter comes in through the window and the camera pans to the adult Wendy, the Steadicam operator and camera can be seen.

John Allyn and Jake Lucas are casts as brothers. Alanna Saunders played Tiger Lilly.

What will NBC produce next?

The Sound of Music: How do you solved a problem like Carrie Underwood

The Sound of Music Collage
The Sound of Music Collage

When I watched the Sound of Music the Live version from NBC, we have to understand this is a stage production of the Sound of Music not the film version, but I still like the film version because it has more visuals than the stage however, the stage version is not bad at all, overall I like it.

Carrie Underwood. Many people are complaining that she’s a singer not an actress, but she pulled it off and did a fantastic job. Some singers are good actors, if people can give Carrie Underwood a break.  Maybe she would go into acting or doing Broadway.  Give her a chance. Why people have to be mean to her? She said in quotes: “Plain and simple : Mean people need Jesus. They will be in my prayers tonight 1 Peter 2:1-25.

Other stars defended her liked Cameron Diaz pointing out that setting herself up to be compared with Julie Andrews was a gutsy move and urging people to give her credit.

The children also are making there television debut as actors and they were fantastic performers. Even though they work harder than Carrie, these children were still in school or they were tutor on the set which is convenient to do so. First, they would go to school for 3 hours on the set and the rest, rehearsals and going to dance class. It really paid off they even acted professionals. One of these days, these children will become stars themselves either on the TV screen or on the big screen.

The production. Directors Rob Ashford and Beth McCarthy-Miller (who directed 30 Rock’s live episodes) — made everything still feel a little stage bound, the storytelling was clear. They should have the puppets and marionettes singing the Lonely Goatherd in the play, that would be the show topper for the live production, but they did not have it in.  They did have some bloopers in the live production. Did you catch them?  When Laura Benanti played Elsa Schrader was walking through the door and the guy right behind her step on her gown. She gesture the guy and continue with her lines and walk away and nothing was ripped. A camera was in the view. Did Carrie Underwood look at the cameraperson for her lines on the teleprompter?  Did Stephen Moyer and the Admiral cut each other line? Especially the admiral when he forgotten his line and Stephen helped him out.

The acting. Stephen Moyer from the hit show “True Blood” sang, he has a great singing voice. I was amazed he could sing.  Carrie Underwood did terrific as usual. As for the children, their acting was fantastic.  Christian Borle was appropriately hammy as Max Detweile. He was last seen in NBC ‘s SMASH, in which it got cancel by NBC. He’s a terrific singer.
