Another Great One Gone: James Durbin

Another surprising exit was James Durbin. The judges were disappointed again. First it was Pia Toscano and now this. American Idol fans have done it again, not picking the right one.

Haley Reinhart, Lauren Alaina and Scotty McCreery are the top three contenders to compete on American Idol and there’s only two weeks to go get the mirror ball. I meant some kind of trophy. They should give out some kind of trophy for the winner with a record contract. A trophy would be nice to the winner.

Since the voting is fair, and it is done by the American Idols fans, the voting procedure for American will change in 2012. Executive producer Nigel Lythgoe, said “What maybe we should talk about for the next season is, should we go to So You Think You Can Dance style of voting so that America votes for the bottom three and then the judges decide who goes home,” Lythgoe said.

He implied the system might be in need of the fine-tuning either way. The judges were upset again and the votes that came in were not the ones the judges pick. Randy Jackson should get some help from Simon Cowell how to be bluntly truthful about the contestants and have a British accent when evaluating the contestants.

Maybe James Durbin wasn’t connecting with the audience, or maybe he wasn’t cute enough to be in the popularity contest, or maybe. He is talented and he sings absolutely fantastic every week. He should have stayed in the competition and Scotty McCreery should have gone home.

American Idol fans think they know everything in picking a winner for American Idol and their favorites.

I hope they do change the voting rules for next year.
